Humana Military Healthcare Services, Inc., (Humana Military) of Louisville, Ky.,
welcomes you to the TRICARE South Region.
Having served as managed care support contractor for the former Southeast,
Gulf South, Mid-Atlantic and Heartland regions for more than eight years, Humana
Military has extensive experience administering the TRICARE program.

Humana Military is a wholly owned subsidiary of Humana, Inc., one of the largest and most innovative publicly owned
health insurance companies in the nation. Humana Military was founded in 1993 to focus exclusively on military health
care initiatives.
About 50,000 providers are part of Humana Military's network of civilian providers who care for the South Region’s 2.7 million
beneficiaries.
Seamless Transition
Now charged with managing the health care needs of the South Region, Humana Military is committed to ensuring that the
transition period is seamless—both for former Southwest Region providers who are used to working with outgoing contractor
Health Net Federal Services, as well as for providers in the rest of the South Region who have previously worked with
Humana Military.
“We will provide time-saving office assistance for providers while ensuring a smooth process for beneficiaries in your office,”

In addition to selecting PGBA for claims processing, Humana Military is partnering with ValueOptions for behavioral health
care services. ValueOptions is the nation’s largest privately held behavioral health managed care company.
If you have questions about behavioral health care coverage for your patients, you can call a ValueOptions provider relations representative at 1-800-700-8646, or access ValueOptions information online.
The third member of the Humana Military team is BlueCross® BlueShield® of South Carolina. A long-standing partner with
Humana Military, they will provide TRICARE operations in South Carolina.
Humana Military Resources
Humana Military developed a variety of resources to aid you and your staff during the South Region transition and well into
the future.
IVR System
Humana Military’s Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week through the
toll-free service line, 1-800-444-5445.
The IVR system responds to your natural speech patterns or to touch tone responses. It is an easy way to get answers to routine questions, such as verifying beneficiary eligibility, checking the status of claims and reviewing the status of referral
and prior authorization requests.
When you call, say “Provider” to access the menu of services. If you prefer to speak to someone directly, service representatives are available from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Eastern Time and from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Central Time.
Internet Portal
Humana Military also developed an Internet portal for South Region providers that gives you everything you need at your fingertips. Registration is fast and simple. Once registered, you can view and easily manage multiple tasks:

address, you should routinely monitor your contact information in Humana Military’s online Provider Locator.

You can submit updates directly online or alert Humana Military of any change to your location, tax information, staffing
or telephone numbers.
