Join the Network-Facility
To become a ValueOptions TRICARE facility/program provider, one must first meet TRICARE’s facility/program accreditation requirements:
| JCAHO accreditation - Required for Inpatient Psychiatric and Substance Abuse Detoxification and Rehabilitation facility/programs |
| JCAHO or CARF accreditation - Required for Freestanding Substance Use Disorder Rehabilitation Facilities (SUDRF) |
TRICARE certification through the National Quality Monitoring Contractor (NQMC) - MAXIMUS (602) 308-7160, for:
- Psychiatric Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHPs)
- Residential Treatment Centers (RTCs
- Freestanding Substance Use Disorder Rehabilitation Facilities (SUDRFs)

Insurance coverage requirements:
- Current medical malpractice, comprehensive professional, general and /or liability insurance certificates that identify the limits of liability (minimum $1 million per claim; $3 million aggregate) or appropriately funded, actuarially sound self-insurance program.
To apply for Network participation, the following items are required, depending on the services/programs offered at your facility. Please contact the Provider Relations Department at (800-700-8646 to request a TRICARE South Facility / Program Application form, or should you have questions concerning the submission of these documents:
- Facility/Program Addendum form for each service provided, together with copies of all applicable state licenses and
- Evidence of current liability coverage, with policy period specified
Medicare certification
- JCAHO or CARF certification
Other important information:
- Please allow 20-30 days, from the time the application is received, for the review process
- Please feel free to contact the Facility Contract Coordinator at (800) 700-8646 ext. 2095 for the status of your facility/program application, once submitted
- You will be notified in writing upon acceptance into the TRICARE network
- TRICARE requires us to maintain current and accurate demographic information for each facility/program in our network. Each facility/program will be notified when copies of updated documents, such as state licenses, insurance, etc. are required.
- Please notify us of changes related to your facility/program, e.g. a new tax identification number, changes in services offered or change of ownership
Join the Network- Provider
A Network provider is a member of the ValueOptions preferred provider network. The benefits of becoming a Network provider include:

Claims support and assistance with Utilization Management processes;

Faster notification of changes affecting the TRICARE program;

Lower out-of-pocket costs for beneficiaries who utilize Network providers.
To become a TRICARE Network provider for ValueOptions, a provider must meet established network criteria. If you would like to inquire about network criteria or request an application to join the network, please email us at provhelptricare@jax.valueoptions.com or call (800) 700-8646.
The entire credentialing process can take 90+ days. When submitting an application, you can expedite the process by ensuring that all required information is attached and blanks are filled in.You will receive written notification once your application has been approved. In the interim, you can check the status of your application by emailing us at provhelptricare@jax.valueoptions.com or calling (800) 700-8646.
It is very important that we have current and accurate demographic information for each individual provider in our network. This information is used to make referrals and to keep you informed of TRICARE program updates. In addition, authorization confirmation will be sent to you via facsimile. Therefore, it is also important that we have your current fax number on file.
Internet email communication will give you immediate notification of information. Please remember to notify us of changes to your email address.
If a provider does not meet ValueOptions criteria for joining our network, he/she may become certified as a Non-Network TRICARE provider. To become a TRICARE certified provider, please contact TRICARE Provider File Operations at PGBA at (800) 288-2227, ext 69550. |
