External Resource Sharing Agreements (ERSA)

The Humana Clinical Resources Department is responsible to oversee and carryout the TRICARE contract requirement of acting as a liaison between network facilities and MTFs to enhance collaboration.  The ERSA program allows a MTF physician (Active Duty/Civilian) to provide needed services in the network hospital.  Therefore, the network hospital acts as an extension of the MTF.  Two valuable reasons for establishing an ERSA between your MTF and the network hospital:
  • Allows your MTF physicians to perform procedures that may not be performed in your MTF; thus, assisting the providers in keeping up their skill set

  • Saves on the professional component of fee for services rendered.
An ERSA does not diverge from the already established network arrangement that Humana Military has with that network facility.  Therefore, the network contract stays exactly the same.    If you are interested in exploring an ERSA, please contact us.  We will coordinate the relationship between your MTF, its providers and the network facility.

MTF Optimization

As a part of the TRICARE South contract, Humana Military provides MTF optimization services.  As many MTFs will attest to, Humana Clinical Resources has done a great job of providing MTFs with data that helps them make good, solid business decisions.  Our optimization program is a collaborative one where we meet on a regular basis via phone and in person to discuss the specific needs of your MTF.  From there, we will pull and parse paid claims data that will assist your MTF now as well as in the future. If you are interested in discussing an optimization briefing, please contact us.
