Take Care Clinics

Take Care Clinics are now available to TRICARE PRIME and Standard beneficiaries as a network provider for the South Region. Located inside select Walgreens, Take Care Clinics are professional walk-in health care centers that are open seven days a week, including weeknights.

Staffed by board-certified nurse practitioners, Take Care Clinics provide preventive services and screening exams, and they can treat minor illnesses for patients 18 months and older. Appointments are not required.

Walgreens Pharmacy

While Take Care Clinics are now a network provider, please note that Walgreens Pharmacy is no longer a network retail pharmacy for TRICARE.

Do I need a referral?

  • All Active Duty Service Members must have a referral from a Military Treatment Facility.
  • TRICARE Standard beneficiaries do not need a referral.
  • TRICARE PRIME beneficiaries do not need a referral for any preventive services, including immunizations and school physicals. Other services require a referral from the beneficiary’s Primary Care Manager. For all other services received without a valid referral, PRIME beneficiaries will incur point-of-service charges.
