Colorectal cancer is the third most commonly diagnosed cancer in both men and women, excluding skin cancers, and the second leading cause of cancer deaths in the U.S. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), if everyone age 50 years or older had regular colon screenings, deaths from this disease could be reduced by almost 60%.
Colorectal cancer begins in either the colon or the rectum and colorectal cancer symptoms affect people differently. While some people show no symptoms at all, others may have warning signs. Visit the
American Cancer Society web site to learn more about colorectal cancer.
