Effective April 1, 2012, recurring fee payments for TRICARE Prime can only be accepted by credit card or a monthly, automated deduction. Checks are accepted for initial Prime enrollment fees only. This eliminates the need for you to complete an online fee payment, however, please remember to include this deduction in your financial accounting process such as your checking account register.
Retired service members, their families, survivors, eligible former spouses, and others (e.g. Medal of Honor recipients) enrolled in TRICARE Prime are required to pay an annual enrollment fee. In most cases, the TRICARE Prime enrollment fees are not refundable. There are no enrollment fees for ADSMs and ADFMs (or for survivors during the transitional survivor period following the ADSM’s death) enrolled in TRICARE Prime, TPR, or TPRADFM.

Beginning October 1, 2012, TRICARE Prime enrollment fees will increase for most beneficiaries. The FY 2013 fee amounts are based on current law and could change when Congress passes the final FY 2013 budget. For this reason fees should be paid either monthly (through automatic deduction/charge) or quarterly.
|Allotment from Retired Pay
||Allotment from your retired pay is your best option. It is a safe, convenient payment option that frees you from the worry of missing a payment or defaulting on your coverage. To choose this option, you must complete the Enrollment Fee Allotment Authorization Letter. Once authorized your TRICARE Prime enrollment fee will be deducted from your retirement pay. An initial quarterly payment is required in order to establish a monthly payment option.
|Pay Your Enrollment Fee Online
TRICARE Prime beneficiaries, TRICARE Reserve Select (TRS), and TRICARE Retired Reserve (TRR) beneficiaries living in the South and all CHCBP beneficiaries may pay their enrollment fees online by credit card. TRICARE Prime beneficiaries and CHCBP can pay their quarterly or annual payments online. TRS, TRR and TYA may only pay their initial or replacement payment online. TRS, TRR and TYA are required to establish a monthly automated payment.
|Pay-by-Phone IVR System
||To choose the new IVR system Call: 1-800-444-5445 and select the automated express services menu. Pay-by-Phone allows you to make a payment over the phone 24 hours a day, seven days per week. It also provides information and allows you to request forms to set up future automatic monthly payments.
|Electronic Funds Transfer
||To choose this option, you must complete the EFT Payment Authorization form. Once authorized, your TRICARE Prime enrollment fee will be deducted automatically from your bank account (checking or savings) each month. An initial quarterly payment is required in order to establish a monthly payment option.
Recurring charge is a monthly payment option for all programs except CHCBP.
