These are the disorders most often diagnosed at an early age. Adults who present with symptoms which meet diagnostic criteria may also be diagnosed with one of these disorders utilizing all relevant qualifiers (i.e. level of severity and acuity).

It is also important to note that although most DSM-IV-TR diagnoses have a single criteria set which applies to children, adolescents, and adults alike, certain disorders have specific age limitations and duration of symptom requirements which must be met when being assigned to children and adolescents.
