The TRICARE Benefit for Immunizations
 
Immunizations are covered as a preventative benefit as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.  Some age and frequency restrictions may apply.
CDC's Recommended Immunization Schedule

There are no copayments for TRICARE Prime for immunizations and vaccines, although the physician's office may charge a copayment for the office visit.  Applicable cost-shares and deductibles apply for TRICARE Extra and Standard.

Where to Obtain a Vaccine
If you are unsure where to obtain a vaccine, it is a good idea to start with your local MTF if you live near a post or base.

Keep Your Receipt
If you are required to pay out of pocket for the immunization or vaccine, you will want to keep your receipt if you wish to file a claim to be reimbursed.


Filing a Claim?
If you are using a network provider, your provider will submit claims on your behalf.  If you are using a non-network provider you may be required to submit your own health care claims if you wish to be reimbursed.
