Background
A partnership of Humana Military Healthcare Services (HMHS), the Military Warrior Support Foundation, and Golf San Antonio was formed to honor and host service members who are recovering from illness or injury acquired in Iraq and Afghanistan at this year’s Valero Texas Open, October 9-12, 2008, at the Westin La Cantera Resort in San Antonio, Texas. 

The event, sponsored by Humana Military, will be encouraging for the injured warriors and family through:
  • Best seats in the house for an exciting world class PGA TOUR Tournament
  • Complimentary food and beverage
  • Souvenir shirts
  • Tournament memorabilia.
  • Visits and autographs from select PGA TOUR players
  • Visits from senior Deparment of Defense and Military leaders

About HMHS

HMHS, headquartered in Louisville, KY., has been a Department of Defense contractor for the administration of the TRICARE program since July 1, 1996. In August 2003, HMHS was awarded the contract to provide health benefits support and services to approximately 2.8 million active duty and retired military and their eligible family members in the 10-state South Region. HMHS was also awarded the Department of Defense’s contract to provide health care services and support for active duty service members and their families located in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, in February 2004.
