Our Commitment to Military Employment

Humana Military Healthcare Services is a member of the Army Spouse Employment Partnership (ASEP), an effort to build private partnerships with Fortune 500 companies and military spouses. The partnership’s goal is to facilitate the employment of military spouses to the mutual benefit of the military and privately held companies. The goal affords the spouses employment opportunities to better meet employment goals, career sustainment and mobility and increased family financial security.

Humana Military has been recognized as a “5-Star Employer” by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) organization as a result of ongoing support for Humana Military associates who serve in the National Guard and Reserve. This is the Guard’s highest honor for private employers. Humana Military demonstrates its commitment to employee military service by not only ensuring ongoing compliance with the Uniformed Services Employment and Re-Employment Rights Act Law, but also by adopting polices and programs that go above and beyond the requirements of the law.
ESGR developed the 5-Star Employer program to enlist support of employers in developing human resource policies and practices that encourage participation in Guard and Reserve programs. Induction into the program demonstrates that Humana Military is an active advocate for associate service and has educated its managers to ensure that associates on military duty can serve with no concerns that it will negatively impact their employment or career development at Humana Military.
