Program Overview
Humana Military/ Humana Veterans understands that our business partners are the key to our success. Since our company works on sizeable projects with very tight time lines and strict metrics, it is imperative that we develop our small business teammates into competent and efficient partners. Through our mentoring efforts, we share valuable knowledge that contributes to the optimal performance and success of our small business teammates.
What is a Protege?
How to become a Protege of Humana Military/Humana Veterans:
- Verify with the respective Federal Agency Small Business Program Office that your small business meets the participation criteria for their Mentor Protege Program.
- If your small business qualifies for a Federal Agency Mentor Protege Program, the next step is to determine if you are a good match for partnering with Humana Military/Humana Veterans. We generally seek potential proteges who meet the following criteria:
- Have a common shared vision and goals and compliment Humana Military/Humana Veterans products and services
- A long-standing relationship with Humana Military or Humana Veterans or have a specific technical niche or strategic opportunity
- Proven operations and financial stability (note: Humana Military/Humana Veterans requires the prospective protege to provide a needs assessment, during this assessment the small business will be asked to supply financial and past performance information.)
- Have the resources available to commit to a potential three-year program
- If you feel you are a good match for Humana Military/Humana Veterans, send an e-mail containing a brief description of your firm's capabilities, business size and how your firm meets the criteria listed above to SBLO@humana.com.
