Humana Military Healthcare Services Spreads Holiday Cheer to U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) Reserve Toys for Tots Program
 LOUISVILLE, KY — December 12, 2008—Humana Military Healthcare Services (HMHS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM), proudly partnered, for the fourth year in a row, with the United States Marine Corps Reserve in a toy drive for the annual Toys for Tots campaign. Toys collected from employees in HMHS offices and TRICARE Service Centers throughout an 11-state region, including the Corporate Headquarters in Louisville, KY are given to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve who will distribute the toys to children during the holidays this year.
“We are thrilled to continue our involvement with this worthwhile organization,” said Dave Baker, president and CEO of HMHS. “The Toys for Tots campaign brings together HMHS associates and the communities in which they live and work for a worthy cause; making this holiday season brighter for children who otherwise might not experience joys of this time of year.”
HMHS associates increased their donation by 12 percent this year collecting just over $17,460 in cash contribution. Other drives are continuing throughout HMHS offices in the southern United States through this week. In addition, Humana Military sponsored two significant events including the Toys for Tots kick-off luncheon in Washington, D.C. and the annual Reindeer Run in San Antonio. Overall, Humana Military donated approximately $57,000 to Toys for Tots.
“Humana Military employees contribute to various causes and organizations throughout the year, however bringing the joy of the season to children of those serving in the military is always a favorite,” concluded Baker.
