Humana Military Healthcare Services Receives Re-accreditation in Case Management Program

LOUISVILLE, KY— September 8, 2009 Humana Military Healthcare Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM), recently received re-accreditation for its Case Management Program from URAC, a Washington, D.C.-based health care accrediting organization that establishes quality standards for the industry.

“URAC accreditation is fundamental to our promise in delivering high quality health care services to our beneficiaries,” said Dave Baker, president and CEO of Humana Military. “A merited case management program ensures a continuum of care that is consistent with the high level of service our military families in the South Region have come to expect from us.”

“By choosing to seek URAC Case Management Accreditation, Humana Military displayed leadership through a commitment to quality and accountability,” said Alan P. Spielman, URAC president and CEO.

Humana Military has current URAC accreditation for Disease Management in Asthma, Diabetes and Heart Failure, Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) – Privacy category, Health Network, Health Utilization Management, and Health Web Site.
