Humana Military Healthcare Services Receives URAC HIPAA Privacy Re-accreditation

LOUISVILLE, KY — March 12, 2009— Humana Military Healthcare Services (HMHS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM), received their first re-accreditation for  Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy from URAC, a Washington, D.C. based healthcare accrediting organization that establishes quality standards for the industry. HMHS first received accreditation for HIPAA Privacy in 2006.

In addition, HMHS has current URAC accreditation for Case Management, Disease Management – Asthma, Disease Management – Heart Failure, Health Network, Health Utilization Management, and Health Web Site.
